What Is Early Childhood Caries?

Early Childhood Caries, is an especially damaging form of dental tooth decay, which affects the baby teeth or primary teeth of children. Other common names are “nursing caries” or “baby bottle tooth decay”.

Early Childhood Caries (ECC) can lead to:

When Should I irst Bring My Children For A Consult or Check Up? 

A first dental visit as early as 12 months is recommended to promote good oral hygiene and habits. The ADA recommends “that the initial dental visit should ideally occur within 6 months of the eruption of the first primary tooth and no later than 12 months of age.”
